Grace and the Sea by Rob Brannen

MATE Ensemble present ‘Grace and the Sea’, an exciting new play by acclaimed writer of ‘The Yarn’ Rob Brannen set on Crosby and Formby beaches – flip-flops essential!

They come to the beach to get away from it all; to picnic, to kite-fly, to beach-comb, to dog-walk. Shipwrecks, 5,000 year old footprints, brave life-boat men and a living chorus of Anthony Gormley statues will transport you to ‘Another Place’.

Film, live music, physical theatre and storytelling combine in this exciting and dynamic celebration of an amazing landscape and those who have left their mark upon it. Don’t forget your sunscreen.

“An extraordinary theatrical production…poetic, engaging and identifiable…by the end, their joy becomes your joy and their sorrow your sorrow” 5 stars, Three Weeks, Edinburgh Fringe 2012

“Everything that is good about community theatre….an incredibly joyous piece. It felt like I had a smile on my face from beginning to end”  Liverpool Theatre’s Best of 2012 madeup.lv
