“A community theatre masterclass” – Number 9 ★★★★★
“Wonderfully bizarre” – Made Up ★★★★★
“A fine evening of piratical fun and frolics” – North West End ★★★★
“Energetic and original” – The Stage ★★★★

Sailing on from their steam-powered tour of the North West; multi-award winning MATE Productions return to the Fringe with their spectacular re-imagining of this pirate classic. Climb aboard the good ship Hispaniola for an unforgettable adventure with sword-fights, buried treasure, clockwork parrots, flying machines, steam powered limbs and an epic story like you’ve never seen it before. Directed and produced by MATE’s Artistic Director Gaynor La Rocca, with original live music by Taran Harris and stunning Victorian futuristic costume by Jane Allen, this nautical odyssey also boasts explosive percussion direction by Francisco Carrasco, exciting choreography and movement direction by Beverley Norris Edmonds, swashbuckling fight direction by British Equity Fight Director Renny Krupinski and a disreputable crew of marauders, actors, dancers, singers and musicians. This year’s buccaneering adventure promises to be another stunning hit and a thrilling voyage for all the family.

All hands will be on deck as we splice the main sail as the MATE ship departs for its final port of call at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival from the 11th – 18th August!
